The Chapter of the Earth
I, Torvin Stonehand, record this finding. The act of cataloguing shapes the very truth of its essence! This Chapter of the Earth is not etched in parchment but carved directly into a section of Terra Vitae. It speaks of something I have only pieced together from the fragmented readings of the Truthseekers and the half-crazed ramblings of old Miner Bram. It is not history, nor is it a location. It is, instead, a means by which to travel the Geomancer's Path, using the very energy of the mountains. The path can be found in the Glimmering Caverns.
Not a single path, mind you, but a network. A web connecting the vital organs of the Iron-Grip Mountains. They whisper of the dangers: The Stone Sentinels, which are fiercely protective; the Shadow-Goblins, which seek to corrupt the veins for their foul purposes; even the threat of the Chitinous Swarm, who seek to consume everything in its path. There is also the constant threat of The Gaze of the Deep, which drives many to madness!
There are tales of a Stone Walker, a new being, who helps guide the path, acting as a protector of those who wish to travel to the Silent Forges.
Those with ill intent, like the Order of the Azure Hand, seek to exploit the path for their own desires, for the Celestial Alignment Ritual. But, it would seem that only those pure of heart can travel without being led astray. There are even whispers that those who do not proceed with respect risk awakening The Cacophony, an entity that can destroy reality. It is also important to heed the advice of the Silent Monks of Durin's Peak, who seek balance for all the inhabitants of the mountains. It is rumored that the Skyclaw Griffons will impede travel as well, sensing a disharmony on the path. And, it seems that the Forgotten Smith will also attempt to bar the way. Even the Cobalt Corsairs seek to plunder its secrets! The Sky Temples of Aerilon are said to be connected to the Path. It seems, this is a journey best traveled with a careful eye.
