Terra Vitae

Terra Vitae. A name that whispers of life from the very earth, this substance is unlike any other known to the Dwarven Abbey. It is not merely a mineral, nor simply a collection of organic matter, but a convergence of both, a testament to the Auric Resonance that flows deep within the Iron-Grip Mountains. This sacred substance is found only within the deepest Veins of Lumina.

According to the fragmented texts of the Chapter of the Veins, rediscovered after the Great Sundering, Terra Vitae was revered by a pre-dwarven civilization, known as The Terrene. They saw the earth not as a resource to be exploited, but as a living entity, a source of wisdom and healing. This reverence is detailed in ancient Petroglyphs of the Depths. Terra Vitae was said to be the blood of the earth, capable of mending wounds both physical and spiritual. It could even repair Aetherium Conduits, and was said to ward off even the most vile beings, such as the Chitinous Swarm.

The substance itself manifests as a vibrant, emerald-green crystal, pulsating with a soft, internal light, not unlike the Sunstone of Aethelgard. To touch it is to feel a surge of energy, a connection to the very heart of the mountain. Some texts even suggest that Terra Vitae can be used to communicate with the earth, allowing one to hear the whispers of the Stone Spirits of the Deep. The Crimson Cartographers must map this source. It is said that, when combined with Gloomfungus, Terra Vitae can create a powerful healing draught. The Forgotten Smith may have known of its existence, and built the Resonance Well nearby. This might be another reason why the Cobalt Corsairs roam around the mountain. Is it possible that the Lost Shrine of Reflections can tell us more? What would Valia, the Empty do with this power?
