Resonance Gloves

The Resonance Gloves… more than mere hand coverings, these artifacts represent a pinnacle of dwarven attunement to the earth's subtle energies. Forged, it is believed, during the latter years of the Silent Forges' operation, these gloves were not intended for combat or labor, but for feeling. Specifically, feeling the Auric Resonance that permeates all things within the Iron-Grip Mountains. Constructed from treated Gloomfungus hide, interwoven with delicate strands of Aetherium and lined with Terra Vitae, they amplify the user's sensitivity to vibrations, allowing one to perceive the faintest tremors in the earth, the subtle hum of Aetherium Conduits, and even the whispers of the Stone Spirits of the Deep.

The primary purpose of the Resonance Gloves was to assist in Resonance Weaving. Skilled artisans would wear them while crafting, allowing them to feel the flow of energy within their materials and shape them with unparalleled precision. The gloves were also used by Truthseekers, enabling them to tap into the Veins of Whispers and receive clearer visions. Some whispers hint at the gloves being connected to The Lost Shrine of Reflections. The Forgotten Smith might have even had a hand in their design, leaving a description of his creation in a lost Chapter of Artifice. He sought to create the Resonance Loom, a similar machine.

However, the use of Resonance Gloves was not without its risks. Prolonged exposure to amplified Auric Resonance could lead to mental instability and a detachment from reality. As such, only dwarves with years of training and unwavering mental fortitude were permitted to wear them. The gloves may need to be powered using the Runes of Lumina, to prevent madness. After The Great Sundering, the knowledge of how to properly use and maintain the Resonance Gloves was lost, leading to their eventual disappearance. It is also mentioned in the Chapter of Fungi that the gloves should be used to harvest the Gloomstrands. Perhaps they are still hidden within the Vault of Whispers, awaiting a worthy wielder. It is said that they can protect the wearer from The Gaze of the Deep.
