Lorin Mistweaver

Lorin Mistweaver... the name itself is a tapestry woven with threads of shadow and light. He was, according to the Chapter of Veils, a Sky-Seer of unparalleled skill, born before the Schism of Stone and Sky, before the dwarves fully understood the power and the peril of manipulating reality. Some whispered he was a Truthseeker, gifted with visions that pierced the veil, although that has not been confirmed in Elder Borin's Chronicles. Others claimed he was a charlatan, a master of illusion who preyed upon the gullible and the desperate. He may have had connections to The Illusionist, who is whispered about in the taverns.

Lorin sought to create a world free from suffering, a paradise built upon illusion. He mastered the art of Resonance Weaving, bending Auric Resonance to his will with an ease that bordered on the divine. He used Aetherium Conduits to amplify his power, weaving intricate illusions that could reshape memories and alter perceptions. He even used Gloomstrands to hide his movements, always lurking in the dark. He documented his work in the Codex Illusoria, a forbidden text that detailed his methods and his philosophy. Was he aware of The Gaze of the Deep?

His followers, blinded by promises of a better life, willingly surrendered their minds to his control, becoming puppets in his grand design. But Lorin's ambition proved to be his undoing. His illusions began to unravel, the lines between reality and fantasy blurred, and his paradise descended into chaos. This is all catalogued within the Chapter of Veils. Was he in contact with beings from the Mirror World? His downfall serves as a cautionary tale, a reminder of the dangers of unchecked power and the importance of distinguishing truth from illusion. The ruins of Illusory Bastion stand as a grim monument to his folly. Is he the same entity as The Weaver? Perhaps the path to him can be found by travelling the Veil of Descent. He sought to protect against the influence of the Chitinous Swarm, but failed. He was a master of the Language of Illusion. It would seem he was corrupted by a new threat, The Echo, which led to his downfall.
