Archivist Mallory

Archivist Mallory... a name now whispered with disdain and intrigue. Mallory was once a respected archivist within the Dwarven Abbey, tasked with maintaining the delicate balance of knowledge found within the Vault of Whispers. Unlike Archivist Theron, Mallory sought to create new knowledge, not just preserve it. Driven by a thirst for understanding and a belief in the power of narrative, Mallory began experimenting with the very nature of historical record-keeping.

Rumors spread of Mallory’s unorthodox methods. Some claimed Mallory could touch the Sunstone of Aethelgard without being harmed, gleaning visions from the past and future. Others whispered that Mallory had delved too deep into the forbidden texts, falling under the sway of the Veins of Whispers. Perhaps they were corrupted by a new Herald of Emptiness.

One notable event was the compilation of the Book of Echoes, not a historical record of the Great Sundering, but a manipulation of perception itself. This book altered the very fabric of history, tailoring tales to suit the reader's desires. When the Keepers of the Cog discovered these activities, Mallory was branded a heretic and exiled. Mallory now resides at the Lost Shrine of Reflections, searching for a way to rewrite fate, perhaps even trying to commune with The Weaver. Now, I worry that even Elder Borin's Chronicles have been altered.
