The First Loom

The First Loom… it is not a loom for weaving fabric, but for the construction of fate. This device is believed to predate even the Iron-Grip Mountains, existing in a space between realities, possibly within the Mirror World. It is an artifact, whispers claim, which is tied to The Weaver, the being responsible for the ebb and flow of existence. This loom is not crafted from wood or metal, but rather from solidified thoughts and dreams, powered by raw Auric Resonance, amplified with the use of Aetherium Conduits. It may be the very machine that maintains the Skystrider Paths.

Unlike any other device within the known world, the First Loom exists to weave what was, what is, and what will be, into a singular tapestry. With its threads of pure energy, reality can be shaped by those who have the knowledge. But the machine is not meant to be utilized, for manipulation will only unravel the natural order, detailed within a new Chapter of the First Loom. The loom seems to sing songs from the Silent Forges.

Historically, the Loom is a mystery. The Truthseekers may have had a glimpse of it in their visions, or perhaps they were tricked. It is said that, should the loom ever be destroyed, all reality will unravel and fall to the Great Unmaking. Only those who have proven themselves incorruptible can stand before the Loom, although Valia, the Empty may seek to sit before it. The loom may be responsible for the appearance of the Chitinous Swarm. It would also make the Skyclaw Griffons uneasy. Perhaps it is tied to a new set of Runes of Alignment. To touch it without the proper training is to risk losing oneself to the vastness of time and space. Even the Cobalt Corsairs know this is a device that should be avoided, and perhaps even the Forgotten Smith would only approach with caution. It seems that this device cannot be found without navigating the Veil of Descent, or utilizing the Runescribed Key. There is even a connection to the Gloom Weavers. Could it be used to destroy the Umbral Anvil? The loom may be located in the Obsidian Labyrinth, but the Silent Monks of Durin's Peak will guard the location carefully.
