Void Wyrms
The Void Wyrms are not creatures in the traditional sense, but rather living embodiments of the Great Unmaking, their existence a paradox woven into the fabric of the Null Fields. They are born not of flesh and blood, but of the absence of everything: light, sound, even Auric Resonance. Imagine a serpentine entity, its form constantly shifting and swirling like smoke, its presence a void within a void. Their scales are like the night sky, dotted with faint pinpricks of starlight, and their eyes burn with a cold, uncaring intensity. The Silent Monks of Durin's Peak believe that the Wyrms are the personification of entropy, constantly seeking to unravel the threads of existence, hastening the inevitable decline into nothingness. Encounters with Void Wyrms are exceedingly rare, but always catastrophic. They do not attack with claws or teeth, but rather with the Void Touch, an ability to drain the life force from any living being, leaving behind only an empty husk. The Order of the Azure Hand fears these creatures above all else, believing they are the antithesis of creation and seek to destroy them by utilizing a Celestial Alignment Ritual. The Lost City of Umbral sought to harness their power. The Crimson Cartographers have documented the Wyrms' influence on the land, noting that their presence causes the very terrain to decay and crumble. It is said that the whispers within the Vault of Whispers are actually the fragmented thoughts of those consumed by the Wyrms. Perhaps they were created by the Forgotten Smith as a failsafe to stop the Chitinous Swarm. The Gnomish Tinkers have theorized they can create Resonance Dampeners in order to repel them. Elder Borin's Chronicles even has multiple passages referencing these threats. Are these creatures of Aetherium Void? The only person to ever face these creatures and survive, is Valia, the Empty. They can only be killed by utilizing the Runes of Null, so it is written in the Chapter of the Void. Do the Cobalt Corsairs stand a chance?
